USA: The weekend last wave of storms in the east coast

The latest wave of bad weather that has hit the U.S. east coast is expected to affect these areas on Friday and Saturday, after heavy snow made the previous day .
 
The provision of new , severe weather came while millions of Americans trying dug the snow has covered almost one third of the country . One million people in the American South , are without electricity as several trees fell on the cables of electricity grid because of frost and strong winds .
 
At least 18 people have died from causes related to the bad weather, including a pregnant woman whose car was swept away by snowplow machine . Doctors managed to save the baby, subjecting the unfortunate woman in cesarean section , but the newborn is hospitalized in critical condition .
 
The powerful storm struck the southeastern states Wednesday and moved north to the area of New England. More than 30 cm of snow fell in the states of North Carolina , the Georgia and Virginia .
 
The federal and state agencies remained closed Thursday as well as most schools . At the same time thousands of flights were canceled and some passengers to stay for days at airports .
 
Meanwhile , President Obama Friday visited the area of Fresno in California affected the last few days of intense drought . The U.S. President met with local officials and farmers in the region in order to find the effects of this phenomenon on crops .
